Cinderella on Broadway!

So my mom told me on Wednesday to wear something nice & do something to myself.
AKA wash my hair & throw some makeup on my face.
She said she was taking me somewhere for an early Christmas present & that RJ was coming home early from work to watch Harper.
I kept trying to figure out what was going on, but just gave in & waited until she came to pick me up.
Turns out, she got us tickets to see CINDERELLA on BROADWAY at the National Theatre in DC!

It was so awesome!!
They changed the story line around a little bit, but ultimately stayed true to the movie!
I think they switched it up some to add a little more humor to the show and also to make it a little longer. Of course they can't act out every scene, so they needed to make it last!
I don't want to give it away at all, but how they changed it up was pretty funny & we LOVED it!
The best parts were when Cinderella was taking the carriage ride to the ball.
The way they changed her costumes was literally amazing. I don't know how people think of how to do that. So creative!

We really enjoy seeing musicals & have seen quite a few. I would have to say though, that my ultimate favorite would have to be Legally Blonde! I saw it twice-once in NYC & once in DC. That is also my favorite movie, so its really no surprise I also loved the musical!
This was so awesome & such a great Christmas present! I love doing things and making memories instead of getting material gifts.
I know you will read this mama, so thank you so much for an awesome night & perfect present!
I took a picture of where we parked in case we forgot! haha

Of course they don't let you take pictures during the show, so I snapped this quick one before it started! We were up in the balcony & had great seats! We were able to see everything & I really enjoyed the seats!

I will say though, that I was slightly disappointed that Cinderella had brown hair instead of blonde like the original, and the dress she wore to the ball was white and in the movie it was blue. The show was so great that I didn't notice too too much, but would have loved for that to stay true to the original!

Happy Tuesday, friends! Thanksgiving is just 2 days away now & I know I'm ready to get my grub on &  eat half my body weight in stuffing!

  1. AHHHHH what a wonderful surprise!!! I love that your mom planned a special surprise gift for you. I would have been disappointed with a brunette Cinderella as well.

    1. Yea..what the heck! And I think she was wearing a wig anyways, so why not give her a blonde wig!?

  2. Sounds like such a fun evening with your mom! I love Cinderella!

    1. Me too! it was so great! We had such a great time :)

  3. Cinderella is my favorite!! How fun! :) Total bummer about the brown hair & dress though!

    1. I know! I sound like a spoiled brat but I just never pictured her as a brunette!

  4. How awesome!! I totally think I would love Legally Blonde because I love the movie! Boo about her dress not being blue, that's kind of her signature lol!

    1. If you ever get a chance to see it, GO! Its seriously so awesome!!
